Most generic tapes use industrial-grade adhesives not designed for the face. They leave a sticky residue and cause irritation with repeated nightly use. We use a purpose-built medical-grade acrylic adhesive across our full range. It’s designed for a secure hold for 8+ hours. A quick rinse in the morning takes care of any residue.

Yes. Both the mouth tape and nasal strips use a medical-grade acrylic adhesive. The strip profiles differ: the mouth tape is custom shaped for the lips, the nasal strip is engineered for mechanical lift. Both use the same adhesive technology, optimised for hypoallergenic 8+ hour contact on the face.

No. The custom profile covers only the centre of the lips, so facial hair has no contact with the strip at all. Unlike oversized "bandage-style" tapes, the design focuses on the lips only, keeping well clear of the surrounding skin and hair.

Yes. The skin on the lips and around the mouth is much thinner and more reactive than the skin on the nose, which is why we use a medical-grade, hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive designed for 8+ hours of daily wear.
For both the mouth tape and nasal strips, we recommend applying to clean, dry skin for optimal bond strength without needing excessive pressure. -
While medical "paper" tape is a common DIY starting point, it isn't designed for the face or for daily use. Standard medical adhesives are engineered to stay on for days at a time; when used nightly, they can strip the skin’s natural oils and lead to chronic irritation and a buildup of adhesive residue that's harsh on the skin's barrier.
O2Sync™ is a specialized tool, not a repurposed bandage. By using a medical-grade acrylic adhesive, we provide a clean-release bond that respects the skin barrier, allowing for consistent nightly use without the cumulative damage or mess of industrial-grade medical adhesives.

Mouth tape is a "structural cue" to encourage nasal breathing, not a permanent seal. Our slim design allows for emergency mouth breathing if necessary, but the goal is to stabilize the jaw to keep the nasal circuit active. If you have a completely blocked nose, consult a professional before use.

For maximum "spring," ensure your nose is clean and dry. Apply the strip just above the flare of each nostril. The high-bond Henkel adhesive will do the rest, physically widening the space in your nasal passage.

Our adhesives are medical-grade and intended for single use to ensure maximum hygiene and bond strength. The mouth tape can be carefully repositioned if you don't get the placement right the first time, though the bond does weaken with each removal.

That’s intentional, and it’s one of the things that makes O2Sync™ different. The strip is designed as a structural cue for the jaw and lips, not a full seal. By covering only the centre of the lips, it provides the tension needed to keep your mouth in a closed position throughout the night, while leaving both corners clear.
This means if you cough, swallow, or need a deep breath, you can breathe through the sides without removing the tape. You get the full benefit of nasal breathing without the discomfort or claustrophobia of total coverage.
